Notably, the customer did not have an existing garbage disposal installed, but there was a switch and a direct wire connection already in place from the previous owner. Our process involved disconnecting the drains, removing the existing basket strainer, cleaning the sink surface, installing the new basket strainer and disposal, and reworking all drains underneath. Thorough testing was conducted to check for leaks and ensure proper function. We also provided a 3-year warranty on all labor and materials, excluding connections to existing pipe materials/systems.Task 2: Rework Laundry Sink Drains
After testing, we identified a leak issue stemming from both the basket strainer and the stainless steel tailpiece. To address this, we recommended replacing the basket strainer and eliminating the stainless steel tailpiece. Our team removed the existing trap and tailpiece, modified the ABS drain/trap to the correct location, and provided a new tailpiece and basket strainer. Post-replacement, we conducted thorough leak testing, and we also offered a 3-year warranty on labor and materials, excluding connections to existing pipe materials/system.Task 3: Replace Basement Toilet
Finally, our technicians determined that the basement toilet was not mounted to the flange properly and was unstable. Moreover, corrosion had compromised the tank-to-bowl bolts, preventing safe tightening. We recommended replacing the toilet, a 12-year-old unit. This involved removing the old toilet, inspecting the flange, and installing a new toilet while ensuring proper stabilization and mounting.
